First Entry
Salutations. :) I'm Abbie Rose.
Okay, once I tried having an LJ. But it didn't go anywhere...
I've had many sojourns with online communities.
I started on Open Diary. I met some really awesome folks and got the general hang of social networking.
MySpace then hooked me. Met even more fabulous folks.
I'm also an avid DeviantART member. You should check out my work. It's worth a gander, I think.
Then I joined Facebook. That's where I spend most of my time, 'cause my family's on there.
I also have a Blogspot. But I've only posted 1-2 entries. Safe to say that didn't go anywhere, either.
Basically, I've been around the bend. Now I've decided to try something...new?
I know LJ's not new. But it is for me. I've gotten bored. I want to blog. I have things to say, and I'd like to imagine that, one day, I'll have people to say them to.
I hope I can find some of those people here.
Another...more tawdry (?) reason I've joined LJ is to get into the Fan Fiction community.
Don't roll your eyes. I think it's fanfics are quite noble.
Some may call it plagiarism, or whatnot, but I think that's ridiculous.
Frankly, I'm of the opinion that some people can create excellent characters and then have no clue what to do with them.
That's where the fans can step in and help 'em out a bit. :)
The enormous fangirl in me has been dying to burst out for some time.
Okay, I've always been a member of the Harry Potter fandom.
(If you've ever come across the site Everlasting Magic, my alias there was weasleyismyking.)
But I'm now all about Doctor Who and Torchwood.
My Doctor is the 10th Doctor. Tennant. How can one resist such a bold, powerful man?
Honestly...he's the first Doctor I was exposed to. Then I became aware of 9. Who kicks ass, no doubt...
But 10's my man. And I'm looking forward to 11, however tragic 10's passing may be.
As for my favorite companion?
Well, Donna Noble, hands down.
Followed closelyyyyyy by Martha Jones.
Captain Jack should rightfully be quite high on the list, but he was only given a measley few episodes with 9 and 10.
And then there's Rose Tyler. Meh. Sorry.
As for Torchwood...
I'm a little more than just "obsessed".
Ianto Jones is probably my fictional soulmate. Everything about him tickles my fancy in some way or other.
He's dreadfully under-appreciated and I don't understand why he got so little screen time.
Children of Earth...I don't even want to talk about it right now.
But, I assure you, there will be more on that travesty later. :S
Toshiko Sato. I have an epic girl crush on that woman.
She can cyber terrorize me any day, if you know what I mean ;)
Owen Harper. Uh, wanker until season 2.
LOOOVE me some Owen in season 2.
Gwen Bloody Cooper. I'm a Gwen Basher.
She's only cool in CoE. Does that make any sense at all?
No. But then again, it's Gwen.
Captain Jack Harknessssssssssssss.
I don't know what I can say about that man that will do him justice.
AAAANYWAY. Doctor Who and Torchwood Fandom. Networking. Meeting New (Preferrably FRIENDLY) People.
That's pretty much why I'm here. :)
I'd love to get to know you.
I won't bite.
Unless you're into that sort of thing. ;)
x.
Abbie
